Built circa 1880, the Coachman served as a hotel until its eventual closure in 2015. The historic semi-detached 3 storey building still retains some of the original features.
Ideally located for residents, the property is situated at the entrance to Darlington Railway Station and a few minutes’ walk to the centre of town, making the property of particular interest to home-seekers and investors alike.
The intention is to create 39 one-bedroom apartments and studios in the Coachman Hotel building, with the interior fully repurposed and refurbished to a high standard to meet the demand for such properties in the area.
The location of the Coachman Hotel property makes it ideal for those looking for city centre residential spaces within close distance of public transport and amenities. The historic building and prime location make it a very promising prospect for commuters and city workers as well as those with a passion for city living.
With the area now undergoing regeneration as part of the multi-million pound Darlington 2025 scheme, Bank Top station is set to become a transport hub. The Coachman Hotel project will see some attractive and much-needed central living space becoming available for residents and workers of Darlington and the surrounding areas.
Darlington is a large market town in County Durham. It has excellent transport links via the A1 and the East Coast Mainline. Newcastle can be reached by train in 29 minutes and London in 2 hours 23 minutes. There are also plans to upgrade the train station to make it ready for HS2.
